Based on an article posted by WWF on September 03, 2016

Six months ago, the inauguration of the Paris Agreement to fight climate change was in doubt. Fortunately, the US and China, which have produced virtually 40 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in the world, disclosed that they have officially took part in the Paris Agreement on climate change. Now, there are 24 countries having approved the Paris Agreement from the target of 55 countries, and each of those countries indicates 1 percent of greenhouse gas emission.

Responding to the good news, both of WWF officials in the US and China stated that the US and China are trying to foster other countries to do the same thing. By taking such a significant decision to join the Paris Agreement, the US and China have created a bigger possibility for an event held by United Nations in order to prepare the implementation of the Paris Agreement. That special event is scheduled for September 21 in New York this year.

This is such pleasant news. Those powerful countries eventually become role models to start good deeds for the world. Both the US and China really deserve our appreciation for their willingness to prevent worse effects of climate change. All we can do is to expect that this important action will not cease before it is done.
